No. chainTraQR handles all blockchain interactions behind the scenes using a relay wallet. Your team uses a simple mobile app — create items, scan QR codes, log events. No cryptocurrency, no MetaMask, no seed phrases. The app generates a wallet for you automatically and stores the keys securely on your device — and every verified event an active team member logs earns a small POL reward, paid straight to that wallet.

Blockchain traceability means every record is written to a public, immutable ledger — the Polygon blockchain. Once an item event is recorded, it cannot be altered, deleted, or backdated by anyone, including us. This creates a verifiable audit trail that holds up in disputes, regulatory audits, and legal proceedings. Traditional databases can be edited; blockchain records cannot.

ERP systems are internal databases — great for operations, but records can be modified by admins and aren't verifiable by third parties. chainTraQR adds a tamper-proof layer on top: every item event gets a blockchain timestamp that no one can change. Yes. Blockchain records are timestamped, immutable, and publicly verifiable — which makes them strong evidence in disputes over delivery, condition, or chain of custody. Each record includes a Polygonscan link that any party (lawyers, insurers, regulators) can independently verify without needing an account or special software. Courts and arbitrators increasingly recognize blockchain records as reliable evidence.

Your raw item IDs, descriptions, and details are stored in our secure database and are only visible to your team. What goes on-chain is a keccak256 hash of the item ID — a one-way cryptographic fingerprint that proves the record exists and when it was created, without revealing the actual item details. Someone would need your item ID to connect the on-chain hash to your data.

An item is any record you create in chainTraQR — a batch, a lot, a pallet, a package, a container. Events logged against an item (custody transfers, condition checks, location updates, etc.) do not count toward your item limit. Log as many events as you need per item.

Yes. Anyone with an item ID or QR code can verify the complete chain of custody at chaintraqr.pro — no account, no subscription, no charge. Ever. Subscriptions are only required to create items and log events.

Yes. chainTraQR runs on the Polygon blockchain, and POL billing is available on request — the POL amount is calculated at the live POL/USD market rate and locked at the time of payment. chainTraQR records all data on Polygon (formerly Matic), an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain. Polygon offers fast confirmation times (~2 seconds), low transaction costs, and the security guarantees of the Ethereum network. Every transaction is verifiable on Polygonscan.

Your blockchain records exist independently of chainTraQR. Even if our service were permanently shut down, every record ever created remains on the Polygon blockchain — publicly accessible, permanently stored, and verifiable by anyone through Polygonscan or any Polygon-compatible tool. Your data is never locked in.

Each item gets a unique QR code that encodes its item ID. Scanning the QR code with the chainTraQR app (or any QR scanner) pulls up the complete chain of custody. You can print QR codes on labels, attach them to pallets, or include them in shipping documents. The Business plan supports bulk QR code generation.
